Portrait of Sharif Sourav

Photographer & Producer

Dhaka, Bangladesh — Since 2012

Sharif Sourav is a Bangladeshi photographer and producer based in Dhaka. For over a decade, he has turned real-life moments into images and films that capture people, cultures, and the quiet realities they live through.

His path began in 2012 as a personal passion for photography and grew into a full-time practice spanning documentary, portrait, and editorial work. A background in Mass Communication and Journalism gave him the storytelling instincts to match his eye — and that combination has defined his work ever since. Among his most defining projects is his 2018 documentation of the Rohingya Refugee Crisis, a body of work that put a human face on one of the region's most urgent humanitarian stories.

In Print & In the Field

His photography has appeared in The Daily Jugantor, Bangladesh Protidin, The Independent, Daily Kaler Kantho, InCAP, jagonews24.com, bd24live.com, and RTV Online. Alongside his editorial work, he has contributed to development and storytelling projects with the World Bank, USAID, a2i, BRAC's Migration Programme, Swisscontact, Helen Keller International, Rola Foundation, Promixco Group, MAX Foundation, and Care Bangladesh.

Production

At Scenario Punch Films, Sourav produces commercials, documentaries, branded content, and digital campaigns — working directly with directors, agencies, and brand teams to take ideas from concept to screen. His production credits include campaigns for Dettol, Closeup, Pathao, MGI, Fresh, Berger Paints Bangladesh, and Domino's Pizza Bangladesh.

Whether behind a still camera or producing a full-scale film, Sourav's work is built on one belief: that visual storytelling can document reality, preserve memory, and move people to care.
